I think that is because in a Social WorkSpace it's not possible to create 'Notes' and when you import a .txt file it takes it as a Note. You can:

Change the type of document bound to the .txt files: As is explained here
Change the declaration of the Social Workspace, so it can accepts Notes: as you can see here
