Hi,

Is there a way to import XML or other types of files and have the XML values automatically populate fields within a document?

Hi, I don't understand, you want to import a file and fill the metadata from other file (xml), is that correct?

Well, in that case you can use the Bulk document importer but it doesn't take the metadata from an XML, it takes the metadata from a file *.properties as is explained in the link.
