How can one avoid webui displaying the defaultSearch that is in the OOTB web-ui bundle, even when it's been overridden/disabled? I imagine this is due to the webui bundle being loaded after the custom one

Hello Jackie,

I don't get the use case behind it:

If the default search is disabled by default in Nuxeo Studio Designer > Drawer Items, then the search is not displayed no?
If you need to customize the default search, you can override it with https://explorer.nuxeo.com/nuxeo/site/distribution/Nuxeo%20Platform%20LTS%202019-10.10/viewExtensionPoint/org.nuxeo.ecm.platform.query.api.PageProviderService--providers

I often do it do modify the default sorting

You can also make your own slot contribution, which leads to the same point
