topic CMIS API and community edition in Alfresco Forum

I'm interested in potentially in experimenting with the Alfresco community edition repository, but only via CMIS. I want to stick with open products and standards as much as possible.

Does the CMIS library come with the community edition product?

You need to use CMIS client library.

Ref : https://www.alfresco.com/whitepaper/cmis

https://docs.alfresco.com/content-services/5.2/develop/reference/cmis-ref/

https://hub.alfresco.com/t5/alfresco-content-services-hub/cmis/ba-p/289965

Sorry for the long delay and I expect I'll need to re-ask this question.

I do not need documentation on CMIS. I was on the technical committee at OASIS that created the standard. What I want to get is a functional Alfresco download running that includes the CMIS API. I also would like to have the source code for both. At one point when Alfresco was its own master it was possible to download the source code to build Alfresco. Subsequently, things "tightened" up significantly and Alfresco was further purchased by Hyland.

That said, the question also remains on whether the CMIS API is also open source and included in the community edition download or not.
