I think I've figured out the answer to the "how to create a user" question. I logged into the main Alfresco website as the admin user and was able to view, manage and create users. Now it will be a matter of mapping local users to the ones that are already created and have been exported from the old site to the new one.

Admin Console Password

I am in the process of migrating an Alfresco Content Services v4.2.6 instance to a new data center. While the server in the current data center is using LDAP for authentication, we were hoping to set up the new server with a much smaller user community using local authentication. My understanding is that I would need to access the Admin console in order to manage users locally (please correct me if I'm wrong!). When I've tried to hit the appropriate URL (http://<servername>:8080/alfresco/service/enterprise/admin) I am prompted for username and password, but am unable to log in with the credentials that succeeded on the original server. Our sys admin believes that the admin password is authenticated in LDAP, which seems odd to me. Can you confirm that this is the case? And is there any way to reset the admin password if it comes to that?

Thank you in advance!

Paul

Update: we were able to recover the admin password and log in. How would we create our first local user? There is no obvious place to do that from the default admin page, which is http://myserver:8080/alfresco/service/enterprise/admin/admin-systemsummary ?
