Add fields in file properties without using content model

Hi all,

I am working on a project that requires additional fields in file property to be added. Existing fields are name, title,description,tags etc. I have added two fields- status and location using model manager in admin tools. But I wish to achieve this using share.xml or any other configuration file. so please suggest alternate approach for it.

In which configuration file, changes are to be made to add additional fields under file property. Kindly ellaborate with proper code explanation.

I am using alfresco share community edition 5.2.
