How to avoid creation of Multiple Process instances of workflow

Hi team,

I have a BPM flow as (using Activiti 5.18.0)

Start->Intermdiate Timer configured PT2S as Time duration -> ServiceTask 1 (async true and Exclusive true) -> Parallel Gateway ->

1. ServiceTask2 (async true and Exclusive true) -> Script task 1

2. Service Task3 ( async false and Exclusive true)

-> joined through Parallel Gateway -> End

The problem I am facing is , this whole flow is getting called multiple times intermittently creating many instances for the same input.

Could you please suggest where it is going wrong.

how do you start the process? do you multiple process instance of task. anyc = true and exclusive = true << i don't think this will effectively run your service task asynchronously.
