Threads for Alfresco Job and Repo action

Hi Guys,

I am writing a job in alfresco which processes batches of documents at a time. I would like each of those batches to run in a seperate thread with their own transaction boundaries to improve throughtput of the job. I realise I dont understand how Repo actions fit within this. If I start a new Repo action for each batch in the job will the Repo action run a seperate thread in Alfresco?

Hope this is a simple question.

If you are using asynchronous Actions, every action will be executed on a different thread.

If you are using synchronous Actions, you need to create your own mechanism to handle a Thread Pool.

Many thanks for clarifying this for me. I will keep this in mind in future when executing jobs with batches.
