Leveraging S3 storage tiers for cost savings in S3

I am trying to see if I can reduce S3 costs for my really large repository. We are in AWS using the S3 connector.

I was thinking about trying to see if we could use https://aws.amazon.com/s3/storage-classes/intelligent-tiering/. Not sure if this is even possible using the S3 connector.

I was also thinking about trying to leverage the S3 Glacier connector but I think that is tightly coupled to the Records Management module. Also I can't seem to find much documentation on the connector.

My implementation with Alfresco is all via APIs as a headless repository. I have am working with enterprise.

I thought this would be a good place to raise this discussion.
