I have to develop an extension for Alfresco in Java and I was wondering if I could download a version of Alfresco already ready to be used for tests. A version that already has a structure and contains some data?

What I will have to develop is a program that fetch datas into an existing Alfresco (repository, I guess?). I don't know yet if I should use CMIS, NodeService or an other API...

Thanks in advance!

A demo version for Alfresco would be Alfresco Community Edition. You can always bootstrap (custom) test data using the default content bootstrap tooling - you'd only have to create a template / import file once.
