Display the place holder value in the UI

Hi,

I am having a field called like 'addtionalInfo' in the activiti UI and have a placeholder ${addtionalInfo} that get values from DB.

I am in need of adding condition like if ${addtionalInfo} is empty or not present in the DB , i want to display as NA in the UI.

Could you please help on how can i add those condition in the placeholder section of the field of the 'addtionalInfo' in the activiti UI.

or is there any other solution is there in order to achieve this.
