I get something similar when I try to create a web-form in Alfresco WCM.

16:20:30,049 ERROR [ui.common.Utils] Failed to audit exception

Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: could not insert: [org.alfresco.repo.audit.hibernate.AuditFactImpl] at org.hibernate.exception.SQLStateConverter.convert(SQLStateConverter.java:77)
Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlDataTruncation: Data truncation: Data too long for column 'node_uuid' at row 1
at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(MysqlIO.java:2868)

If you turn auditing off, you'll probably find there's another error occurring which is being masked by a fault in the alfresco auditing code (I'm guessing).
As a temporary workaround, turn-off auditing, fix the root cause, then turn auditing back-on.

Skwong, out of interest, which version of Java are you using?

Does anyone know if this is a defect that has been logged in JIRA?

Hi Tom

I'm using Java1.5.0_06. I think turning on FileFolderService and ContentService only do not throw out exception. I need to audit the number of documents uploaded by each user. These 2 services are sufficient. Thanks for your reply
