    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In order to handle special characters like Ã¢â€žÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¤Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Â¦ I save them to the DB in the next formt &amp;amp;#xxx; where xxx is their unicode.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I use alfresco as repository for my portals. The portals looks OK (Ã¢â€žÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¤Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Â¦) with this but in the alfresco I don't see Ã¢â€žÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¤Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Â¦ . What&amp;nbsp; I see™₤€…&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The value binding of the JSP component change the &amp;amp; to &amp;amp;amp; even that &amp;amp;#xxx; is html entity.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;How can I fix that?       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Alfresco directly supports UTF-8 format strings - and therefore itself performs the conversion from UTF-8 to the &amp;amp;#XXXX; format when rendering HTML. This means you should not save data in the &amp;amp;#XXXX; format - but instead save it in UTF-8 format - and ensure your database is using the UTF-8 character set.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Kevin&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
