After days of trying to install alfresco I'm giving up and will continue my search for a great cms elsewhere.

I just can't get any installation of alfresco no matter what I do. I'm not stupid and I've done reasonably complex program installations before, but alfresco's installation procedure just leaves me completely lost.

I can't afford to waste this much time just trying to get a program to install.

Not having any installers, or installation wizards in the bundled download I feel is a real disincentive to having alfresco taken up by the larger marketplace.

Hopefully this will be rectified in future releases, but until then I won't be recommending it to any of my clients.

Hi

It's a shame you're giving up without us being able to help you.

I believe we could have got you up-and-running with the Tomcat bundle you had originally downloaded, but without seeing any log files it's impossible to tell what went wrong - it was probably something "simple but non-obvious".

One final option you might want to consider: you can always sign up for our Hosted Trial which will allow you to evaluate Alfresco before going back to solving deployment issues. Please see here: http://www.alfresco.com/products/ecm/hostedtrials/

Thanks,
Mike
