Yes I can reproduce this issue as well.
But my main question is, which result do you expect from the compare feature?
Because we don't do visual compare yet or so.

i was only trying to compare java files and got this error. It seems, in my case, the latest version completely breaks compare within eclipse.

Hi,
I added http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/ACT-1643 for a simalar UseCase (Open Declaration (F3)). I am afraid, this problem occours in many more UseCases.
