Records Management installation problem

I am having trouble getting RM properly setup. These are the steps I am taking, with the results being no File Plan option under Advanced Wizard:2.1 community version, on Windows XP. I think I have updated the WAR properly, but still don't see the File Plan under Advanced Wizard. I edited the apply_amps.bat file and hardcoded the directory paths and ran the command from the Java folder. That seemed to work based on the -verbose information.

I deleted the ALF_HOME\WEBAPPS\ALFRESCO folder… restarted Alfresco and saw:

which seems to say that the RM module is loaded ok. Yet still no File Plans… any ideas? Thanks!

On further inspection… there is now a Records Space created populated by DOD doc's and other spaces… so that is good. But no File Plan option with I go to create a new Space from the Wizard.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Any chance someone can offer any ideas? I am at a loss. I have tried several fresh installs, but am certainly just repeating the problem.

I really can't spend much more time with this. The RM module is important, and I am trying to give my office an open source option to the Lazerfiche folks blowing costly smoke up their, er, well, you know…

Ok… at the risk of public embarasment. I was reading the 1.4 ver instructions for accessing the File Plans, not the 2.0. Everything is actualy working properly!

Well, one good thing from this: I have really plowed through the configuration files and learned a good deal about the system in an effort to solve a non-problem. I only post this incase some other poor smuck has made the same mistake.

i m trying to run the record management.amp file in alfresco 3.0 (Windows xp)

Then i deleted the /tomcat/webapps/alfresco folder and when i restarted the server it showed me like this

so according to the http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Records_Management_User_Guide It will automatically create one space called Records Space under Company Home space ..

and that space is not created in my case so anybody know what is the problem, why the space is not created
any idea about it plz help me (nd i m using Alfresco 3.0)

Same problem with records management on Alfresco Labs 3.0. Using a CentOS5 system with Alfresco compiled from SVN. Records management module (version 1.3) also built from svn. The logs say that the records management module is loaded, but the records space is not created and neither are the templates. This is making it hard to evaluate the product. Any ideas?

Looks like a regression may have been introduced around the RM module for Labs 3.0. For evaluations specifically of Records Management, I'd recommend using a v2.1 install for now.

in Alfresco 3.0 Labs final the problem persists 😞

Looks like the alfresco-mmt.jar does not "recognize" the install command.

I am encountering the same problem.I have followed the steps specified above for alfresco labs-3.0.Its is showing me that the records management module has been successfully integrated but it is not showing the Records Space under Company Home.

Please Help….

There are a couple of issues with the Records Management module in the 3.x branch. See this JIRA ticket for more info and workarounds: https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ETHREEOH-1422

There is another issue with the module management tool (MMT) used to install the RM module. The apply_amps script should install the module just fine if it is placed in the 'amps' folder, but there is an issue that causes a confusing error message to be displayed if the module is already installed. I have created another JIRA issus to track this: https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ETHREEOH-1559

If you already have installed the records management module on your 3.0 system then you need to do the following to get this working:

1. Upload the move-records-space.js script from ETHREEOH-1422 into Data Dictionary > Scripts and use the Run action dialogue to execute its contents. You should now see the 'Records Space' folder in Company Home.

2. Locate the record_template.ftl template in Data Dictionary > Presentation Templates and use the 'Update' action to replace it with the version on ETHREEOH-1422. Note: do not delete it and re-create it, this will break your records.

@togum: You need to select the "Execute a script" action from the list of actions in the Run Action dialogue. Make sure you have first uploaded the JS file from ETHREEOH-1422, obviously.

If you still have problems, I'd suggest you take a look at the online help documentation, which should walk you through the process.

@togum: ETHREEOH-1422 is the ID of a bug that I previously filed in JIRA on this issue. JIRA is the issue-tracking system we use at Alfresco and can be found at http://issues.alfresco.com/.

One of the features of most issue tracking systems is the ability to attach files to an issue. You should see the relevant JS file attached to the bug in JIRA and download it using your web browser. Then, upload it into the Data Dictionary > Scripts space in the Alfresco Explorer user interface and you should find you can execute it using the Run action dialogue, as described.

Uploading files and executing actions in Alfresco Explorer are really beyond the scope of this forum post so if you have problems doing this then here is the end-user help link:

it would be helpful if you could mention which version of Alfresco and the Records Management AMP you are using. There is a new RM implementation in version 3.2 of Alfresco which uses Alfresco Share as the main interface rather than Explorer. Perhaps that is the one you are using?

I just downloaded the latest version 3.4c, and the record management option is not displaying in the alfresco explorer. i followed the steps outlined in jira, but still no RM! ops:

The latest DoD 5015.2 module is *only* implemented using the Share interface, not Explorer.
