HI,

I'm running alfresco 1.5 and have been using it without a problem. About 2 weeks ago our machine needed to be rebooted and someone did a shutdown on a Redhat Enterprsie edition (shutdown -r now).

When the machine came back up and we restarted alfresco and the lampp server and associated servers (tomcat) we could no longer log in with any user name…admin or otherwise.

I have been trying to restore the backup but have been totally frustrated with the failed outcomes.

I have looked at some of the posts on backup - restoration but they have been unhelpfull or incomprehensible and therefore unhelpfull. It is not the posters fault it is the terms that are sometimes totally unfamiliar to me.

Can you please help us, anyone know what do? We need to know.

Thank you,

Dan

The DB and content store data should be fine. The index also is most likely to be fine and would be checked for consistenct when alfresco starts up in any case.

See http://hsqldb.org/ for information about hypersonic and recovery.

Andy

We're using mysql 5+

I've looked at the database by converting a copy to csv and everything seems to be fine.

But as I said we just can't login none of our usernames and passwordss work, eventhough I see the usernames in the database.

If I could just get it to accept the login in version 1.5 it would be terrific.

Are you starting the server from the same location? It sounds like Alfresco maybe can't find the lucene index files - they are in ./alf_data/lucene-indexes by default. You could try rebuilding the indexes, they are plenty of forum posts on the simple steps to do this.

Thanks,

Kevin
