First time user and Installer…….I installed everything per the README's….. The tomcat starts but alfresco does not start…..I followed the instructions for MySql instead of HSQLAnybody know why….?????Note: I did run the db_setup.sql command and I do have a login and database…but appear devoid of tabl

Found the other thread with this exact problem….I followed this resolution
and removed all alf_data directories. I ran the db_remove and then db_setup, I verified that I can mysql as alfresco…..

Started with alfresco.sh start and am still getting the problem….

Hi

I think this situation arises if you have started the Alfresco server at least once before changing the database configuration. With the default HSQL configuration, both content, indexes and DB files are kept in the 'alf_data' directory. If you leave all those files there and change the DB location, then Alfresco sees a mismatch between the indexes/content-store and database.

I've added a step in the README_mysql.txt to highlight removing any existing 'alf_data' directory.

We've added improved installers that should make it easier to change configurations (you can see them in the nightly builds). We'll carry on improving them to handle changes more completely and automatically.
