Apply a simple workflow to space

Hi,I wanna create a simple workflow rule to space and apply this rule to spaces (not content). It is possible??Example:I have a space called Colder and inside another space called Pack of milk. Can I move Pack of milk, with a simple workflow and when I approve, out of Colder?How can I do??Thanks

Hi,

Technically, yes, it's possible to apply rules, including workflow, to spaces. However, the UI does not expose this currently.

It is on the plan to provide this functionality in the UI but quite a lot of thought needs to be put into this area before anything is added. For example, does the action apply to all items in the space or to the space itself, do all the available actions apply to spaces etc.

If you only want to provide workflow on spaces there is no reason why you couldn't customize the web client to provide this functionality for your application.

Hi,

Sorry, but my english is not very good and i'm new in this world. Is my first configuration and I have many cuestions about the possibilities of alfresco. For example, Can I approve all documents of a space at the same time? Can I include comments when I rejected a document?
I see that I haven't more options that copy or move a document when I rejected, if I want to stay in the same place but with a commentary, Can I do it?

Hi,

I am currently examining Alfresco also in order to assess its suitablility as a document managment system for our QMS.
I would be very grateful if someone could answer the above questions also plus a few more:

1. Can I set up a 'group' of users on a distribution list for e-mail, so that when a document is approved a mail is automatically sent to this group

2. I think the question above regarding dealing with a number of documents at the same time is excellent - we want it to be able to handle packages of docs…usually we will have a number of docs to be approved at the same time it would be nice if you need only approve them once as a 'package' -all at the same time…..

3. I am really interested in examining what functionalities such as the 'Dublin Core', 'Classifiable' and 'Complianceable' (all aspects) do?
