Virtual spaces (based on canned and custom queries) is on the road map for a future release. For now you can use the Templating and Dashboard features to create a Dashboard view for a space that does what you want.

If you have questions about virtual spaces you might consider sending them in Jon Cox's direction. Lots of people here can help out with this topic but I know he spends some amount of time on this directly.

Also, if you have ideas for this, please please, please go to the Wiki and add your thoughts. I think the Query based custom spaces is going to be a huge feature in Alfresco and Id really like to hear all of the ideas that are out there on this.

Anything new about this ?

I've read a lot of things in other posts and wiki about what is called either virtual spaces, query based spaces or dynamic spaces. So it seems that the demand is high.
I've even seen that CIFS virtual spaces based on categories was on the roadmap for release … 1.4, but it seems it wasn't finally done.

We would need virtual spaces accessible from both Web UI and CIFS/WebDAV, based on categories or custom queries. Is it still planned for next few releases, or should we consider implementing it ourselves ?
