You could consider using asynchronous continuations

It works well with asynchronous service tasks and we could re-execute it using Job Executor..
In our case, few service tasks needs to be synchronous. For e.g. results of few backend services are used in gateways to decide subsequent path of user tasks.
So in those cases, if some service task fails then is there any way (API ?) by which we can re-try service task execution and continue process instance execution from same point? (considering same input data state with which that failed task was triggered last time)
