When db_setup runs it registers the alfresco mysql login against localhost only. I have previously found I had to register the login against the machine hostname as well. Try the following substituting your machines hostname for the word &amp;lt;host&amp;gt; :-&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;c:\mysql\bin\mysql -u root -e "grant all on alfresco.* to 'alfresco'@'&amp;lt;host&amp;gt;' identified by 'alfresco' with grant option;"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;hope it works&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;J.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>I have got to the stage where I get the message "INFO: Server startup in 16614 ms" at the bottom of the screen, plus tomcat error text as below.I have run the db_setup.bat a couple of times to initiate MySQL.
