Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to make use of the deployment feature that's being included in the newer versions of Alfresco WCM.

I cannot find any hints on what this feature actually is supposed to do, I just assume from the name that its supposed to be used when actually pushing changes from the development sandbox environments out to a production system. I get a "deployment successful", but what actually happened to the site that I deployed? (I have the "Deploy to:" set to localhost)

How is Alfresco WCM actually intended to be used in a production environment, if this is not the way to go?

Thankful for some hints on how to use this,

Best regards,
Björn

Bjorn:

Yes, we absolutely want Alfresco used in the run-time! Specifically, we would like people to build and manage content-centric applications within our WCM system - which is why we managed both code and content, and support web app virtualization - that leverage Alfresco as a run-time repo for hosting both content and content management services.

To learn more detail about the deployment support provided in our maint release, 2.0.1E, you can refer to our wiki. This deployment service will be enhanced as well for our upcoming 2.1.0 Community release to enable simulataneous deployment of a web project to a remote file server (not running an Alfresco repo).

http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Deployment

Kevin
