FTP Access to web project not working

If I try and upload a file to the staging sandbox of a web application using FTP, alfresco has a [Fatal Error] :-1:-1: Premature End of File.It is fine if I try and upload a file to a "standard" (i.e. not AVM) space.I have tried using both Active and Passive Mode and get the same error.Is this a bug

Sadly, it is not a bug. It is a product limitation.

We currently do not support an FTP interface. Please raise a feature request in JIRA. For FTPing content into Alfresco, FTP them into an Alfresco space and via content rules promote into a user sandbox.

So for now - ftp is for read access only.
