topic Utilizing content from pre-existing file stores? in Alfresco Archive

Good day.

First of all, a quality product with a very nice UI. Kudos.

My question is this: I've installed Alfresco on a test machine and would like to connect the "spaces" to pre-existing file systems on the network. If the test works out properly, I will likely continue to use Alfresco on a secondary machine, leaving the file storage on a remote machine.

Configuration: Alfresco is running on 2kPro at this time. The file-stores are accessable via Samba. They are currently mapped on the 2kpro machine.

My apologies if this has been answered before.

Very old thread, but in case it helps somebody else, you have to put content into the Alfresco repository. Alfresco cannot point to files on an existing file store and simply serve them up.

Jeff
