topic Virtualization Server not working in Alfresco Archive

Hi,
i am running Alfresco 2.0 and installed the WCM module recently. I am unable to preview the websites in the preview website feature. I tried to run the virtual_start.bat but it did not work. I got this error "Neither the JAVA_HOME nor the JRE_HOME environment variable is defined At least one of these environment variable is needed to run this program."

I'm not sure how to go about this as it is really hard to do any real work with creating websites without being able to preview them. I've been following the WCM evaluation tutotrial guide and with the exception of this problem, everything else seems to work. I would really appreciate any help on this. I've been trying to work it out for a week now.

thanks

Try setting your system env variables.

Assuming you are on Windows (most evals are), go to My Computer –> Properties –> Advanced –> Environment Variables. Click on New and then add JAVA_HOME (in my case, c:\java\jdk1.5.0_08).

Cheers.

That worked! Instead of adding JAVA_HOME I added JRE_HOME from my c:\program files\java\jdk1.6.0_01. I am able to preview the website now.

Thanks a lot
