Hi,I have Alfresco installed on a PC running SUSE Linux. Below is a snippet of the startup logs. It looks like the CIFS starts up with the correct machine name but I can't connect to it. The firewall is off. Should I be able to connect using nautilus (Linux File Explorer) to \\CPU002_A\Alfresco ?I'v

Hi,
OK, some success !!!!
I've been trying to connect to the repository using CIFS for a while now without succes but this morning I connected using WebDAV. I could copy and delete folder structures and files to and from the repository. I am on a SUSE machine and use the Nautilus File Browser.
So, for anyone on SUSE with Nautilus try the following to connect to the repository:

From Nautilus click
File -> Connect to server…
On the dialog enter the values below
Service Type: WebDAV (HTTP)
Server: your alfresco IP address
Port: your alfresco port
Folder: alfresco/webdav (all lower case)
User Name: admin
Name to use for connection: Alfresco (I think this can be any value)

When you connect you will be asked for a password for the admin user which i used to connect.

no I haven't been able to get connected to CIFS although the log files say it's up and running. Since it's not an immediate requirement for me I'll propbably just use WebDAV for now but if I do get connected to CIFS I'll post the details here.

From your logs, if you use 1xxx ports for CIFS I think you need to configure port forwarding then, to be able to connect to the share.

In my case I decided not to spend time with forwarding etc and just stopped samba services on my computer (I almost didn't used samba anyway) and then started tomcat as root.
