For e.g. I want to have all the invoices being managed from Alfresco. I would like to have custom properties such as Invoice Number, Invoice Party, Invoice Date, Invoice Amount captured. Based on these data, I would like to have some searches made so that the invoices are easily manageable.

And invoices can have a small workflow as well.

This is what I meant by custom document indexes.

Looking at the wiki given, I think custom meta-data is what I am looking at.

Hi

All meta data and content is indexed by default and is available for search.
The indexing behaviour can be controlled in the type model. It is all on the wiki.
