Were you able to get this issue resolved? I'm having the same problem. I have the same debug line and the server hangs.

I tried a fresh install of JbossAS4.0.5 with Alfresco 2.0 WAR (following the instructions: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Deploying_WAR_JBoss) - it works ok for me - but i do get some exceptions from log4j at startup, but they don't stop the server from working: http://issues.alfresco.com/browse/AR-1252
