      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;BLOCKQUOTE class="jive-quote"&gt;My organization has an extensive catalog of information that we need to publish in printed form and on the web.&amp;nbsp; We currently store the information for printing in a desktop publishing system while the material for web publishing is managed as distinct HTML files.&amp;nbsp; We are looking for a solution that would enable us to manage one repsoitory of information that could be published to the web and as a printed document.&amp;nbsp; Will the new WCM offering provide this functionality?&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;WCM and Alfresco may be able to provide that for you but it&amp;nbsp; also depends on what kind of artifacts are going to be involved.&amp;nbsp; Your content needs to be able to be transformed IE (it is XML or some other transformable itmes) from its source to the target presentation.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;What type of desktop publishing system are you using?&amp;nbsp; What kind of outputs can it provide?&amp;nbsp; Even complex documents like PDF can be broken down and transformed into web content.&amp;nbsp; Many publishing systems can save in XML formats which makes them very suitable for transformation.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;WCM would likely provide you with the transform capabilities, workflow, collaboration, preview and publishing along with all the normal stuff you would expect: searchability, versioning, checkin, checkout etc.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
