How to change the initial password of Alfresco user 'admin'

Can anybody tell me how to change the initial password of the Alfresco user 'admin'. I tried the following on a Windows-Tomcat PR6 bundle installation on Windows XP:- Stopped browser sessions- Stopped Alfresco (i.e. Tomcat and MySQL)- Edit the web-client-config.xml file and changed the entry<adm

Hello,

The initial password is only set once for the administrator, you cannot change it after the system has been bootstraped for the first time. At the moment, you will need to reset your database before the initial password config change will be picked up - this is why it's called "initial" password.

Okay thanks kevin, that make sense. :wink:
Let me rephrase it. What is the scenario for changing the "current" password for the Alfresco user 'admin'. Because in the User Properties of the Edit User Wizard in the webclient these fields are greyed-out (not editable).

Under Alfresco 3.3, the admin password must be changed by selecting the "user profile" icon in the top bar, immediately to the right of the "administration console" button, then clicking "change password."

Please try not to "bump" 5 year old threads; they're very unlikely to be relevant to the current product.
