I'm working on the loan request example from Chapter 5 and built my xml and used eclipse to get deployment artifacts (bar and jar files) which are also attached here for your referenceI copied the jar it built LoanRequestProcessChp5.jar in the following directoryC:\BPM\activiti-5.8\apps\apache-tomca

after searching the forums I even tried copying the jar under activiti-rest\WEB-INF\lib since that had fixed it for some people but that does not fix my issue, I must be missing something pretty obvious but can't think of it after 9pm

Hi,

There's a bug in the Activiti Designer for generating the JAR file.
So if you would generate the JAR file yourself in Eclipse, using the standard export wizard, that should work.
I'll make sure the bug gets fixed soon.

first take a loock at my project structure:

What i've done:
- uploaded loanrequest.bar to activiti-explorer
- copied loanrequest.jar to directories:
C:\activiti\apps\apache-tomcat-6.0.32\webapps\activiti-explorer\WEB-INF\lib
C:\activiti\apps\apache-tomcat-6.0.32\webapps\activiti-rest\WEB-INF\lib

By trying to submit the userform i'm getting the exception above.
I deployed my project with "create deployment artifacts", export function of eclipse and ant.xml buildfile.
Always the same result.

As u can see at the picture, i guess its a problem with the path of "CreateApplicationTask.java" although i put it on the root directory sry/main/java…
I downloaded the "activiti-5.10.zip" but the pom.xml activiti version is 5.9. is that correct, or why its not 5.10?

Do you got any idea for my issue?

I've just resolved my problem 😉
I'm working with the book "Activiti IN ACTION" and i've just red two chapters later:
you need to STOP the tomcat-server BEFORE copying your *.jar files to …\activiti-explorer\WEB-INF\lib
After that you start tomcat again and the jar-Files will be available on the Activiti Engine classpath

thats it …
