      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The current spec for portlets does not allow for cross-portlet communication, although apparently the new portlet spec does.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Some portal vendors provide a proprietary way of doing it or you can always use the portlet session object.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
