Disabling File name URL Links

Is it possible to either create a custom role or even customize Alfresco to disable the filenames from being displayed as links. What we want to do is allow people to see that certain files exist, but not allow them to download it by clicking on or right clicking on the filename which is a link to

Currently you will need to modify the browse.jsp file to do this. The 3 sections starting with the comments:
<%– Primary column for details view mode –%>
<%– Primary column for icons view mode –%>
<%– Primary column for list view mode –%>
contain clickable 'a:actionLink' components which you should convert to 'hutputText' or similar.

You may need to modify the document-details.jsp page as this has links also.
