    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;That may be a bit of an open-ended question.&amp;nbsp; Having worked for a company that provided all of those solutions for higher education, I can only say "know your requirements."&amp;nbsp; I saw millions of dollars worth of software sit on shelves in academia because the marketing literature looked good, but the software didn't really meet any objectives that the customers had.&amp;nbsp; They bought without really knowing their requirements.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I wouldn't expect a one-size-fits-all solution.&amp;nbsp; Identify your needs, then compare various solutions, including this one, against those needs.&amp;nbsp; Ideally, try before you buy, if you can get budget to do that.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;My 4 cents worth (inflation, you know…)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Travis&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Alfresco to replace our failed employee portal?</title>

      <description>Our large enterprise is replacing its failed J2EE employee portal.&amp;nbsp; We also have never managed to achieve collaboration or document management.&amp;nbsp; Is Alfresco the answer to all our woes?  What is the formula to achieve collaboration/DMS/portal functionality?Thanks!</description>
