When I called the freemarker template using the &amp;lt;r: template&amp;gt; tag I did not include&amp;nbsp; model="#{NavigationBean.templateModel}"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This passed the context and the space details are now available.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
