Hi, We are using Alfresco 4.0.e Community Version .Actually here we are searching for records more than 2000 records.. while doing it taking time of 25-30sec approximatley, but we need the results in 5-10 secs. Can it possible? How to increase the performance. Server Config DetailsS: Windows serve

If you are searching through your own queries you should optimize your queries for higher perfomance.
For out of box search functionality optimzation I will advice to do JVM tuning and Scaling up, but looking at your configuration and number of records it should be fast enough.
Is it because you are having big documents?

Also you are using an old version. Newer versions are faster.

Hi Mits,

Thanks for your reply. I'm using the out of box search functionality. But searching for my own custom type. And in repository there are approximately 1 Lakh records. In that if I search for particular Site related documents, it taking 25-30 sec for 1200 records & 45-60 sec for 3000 records. But in back end Query executing with in 3-5 sec. But while displaying the results it taking the time.

So,can you suggest me how to do JVM tuning & scaling up with exact how much value I can give .

But we have requirement for old versions. so can you please suggest me how to achieve search performance with 4.0.e version only

As mitpatoliya says above you need to optimize your queries.
