I'm surprised that there is no "Message of the day" functionality in Alfresco Share. I'm definitely not talking of a dashlet that would carry some message, but rather some kind of "emergency" like small banner that would automatically inform people of the status of Alfresco in a relative unobtrusive

This can surely be useful. And the idea to archive the messages in subdirectories is great. Thanks @jpotts. I'll try to install it.

But the goal here is not to put the information in an applet, because it means only the users that have personalised their dashboard to add it will see the message. IOW, zero. Or at boot time. What I want is a small banner that shows up for everybody either on top of their dashboard, or maybe on all the pages (document-properties etc.). Maybe it can be done by editing the dynamic-welcome template ?

there is a section in the default share template which shows e.g. if your license is going to run out soon. maybe you can leverage this somehow, but it will require some coding.

That’s what I’m looking for. But not only I’m not a FTL expert, I also don’t find my way through all these files, especially what needs to be put in .xmls, what in head, html, etc. The extension mechanisms are also very undocumented. Any idea were I could find some info thereon ?

Thanks for your kind support.

De : mrks.js1

Envoyé : jeudi 13 octobre 2016 08:53

À : Vermeulen Christophe

Objet : Re: - Re: MOTD for Alfresco

Alfresco Community <https://community.alfresco.com/?et=watches.email.thread>

Re: MOTD for Alfresco

reply from Markus Joos<https://community.alfresco.com/people/mrks.js1?et=watches.email.thread> in Alfresco ECM - View the full discussion<https://community.alfresco.com/message/752834-re-motd-for-alfresco?et=watches.email.thread#comment-752834>
