The main reason is we don't know what the user Alfresco Hostname before creating the application. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Indeed to open the Alfresco app on Android from a hyperlink we have to use Intent mechanism and define them prior the creation of the application.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Indeed it requires to know the host to filter the hyperlink&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://developer.android.com/guide/components/intents-filters.html#Resolution" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"&gt;(as defined here)&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In this case you need to create your own custom version of the app by forking the app.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hope it helps.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi jm.pascal,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I actually got in touch with one of the Alfresco engineers who said they were going to add the above functionality into a maintenance release of the Android app hopefully within the next month or two. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I wouldn't have thought that knowing what the hostname of the Alfresco server was required in order to just simply open the app; the requirement's a lot more basic than that - the hyperlink wouldn't necessarily &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;have&amp;lt;/em&amp;gt; have to point to the host, just open up the app itself where the user can browse to whatever the need. Rather than having to drop them out of their current app, then to home screen, then to app drawer, etc. etc. But thanks for the response.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
