I'm just studying the categories and tags myself.

I'm wondering if CategoryService.createClassification is what you want to use. Or if not then what is a "Classification"?

What I understand from your first point you are creating a property via aspect and your categories are stored with this aspect and you want to only show those categories in dialog.

To achieve this in share , use the following configuration in share-config.xml file

parentNodeRef (optional, string): The nodeRef of the category to start the picker, defaults to the root of the category tree
