Alfresco Support may be able to to assist in your upgrade to Enterprise.

Is your context file in the right place or is that just a typo ? You say "/alfresco/extensions" that's not a standard

I presume you are a unix user, I'm a windows user in which case my right path is something like c:\alfresco-enterprise\shared\classes\extension (note the singular s)

Also
a) have you got anything relevant to your patch in your log file?
b) what version of alfresco?
c) how have you installed, for example have you used the automatic installer or have you configured it yourself?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.. the s was a typo. The full location of the extension folder is:
C:\Program Files\Apache_Software_Foundation\apache-tomcat-7.0.42\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\extension

a) There is nothing in the log file relevant to our custom patch. I will attach the log to this reply. There are alfresco patches that run, but not our custom ones.
We should be seeing the text "Applying NHPOLS patches…" in the log.

b) It's Alfresco 4.2.1 enterprise. It's actually an expired licence. We an Alfresco consultant a couple of years ago working on our upgrade to 4.2.1. Unfortunately, our client put the project on hold until now. We expect to have a valid licence shortly, we are just working on fixing any deployment issues with our custom code so we can hit the ground running when we get a valid licence. From what I understand, we should still be able to deploy with an expired licence.. it will just be read only.

c) we have configured the install ourselves via maven.

Hi,

This is no longer an issue. It turns out for some reason, the apache logger is not logging information to the console/log. When I tried a few system outs, they showed up in the console.

So the bootstrap is running, it's just not logging anything.

The bootstrap is still not completing and I get permission errors logging into the UI but that is likely due to us having an expired licence (so system is in read only). The bootstrap creates users and assigns permissions to nodes. Hopefully once we get our licence, it will all run properly.

We were just trying to get the install/upgrade working so we will be ready for testing once we get the licence.
