4.2 Commnity + Create Folder

Users can't + Create Folder in a Repository. Users can create a new site but are then not able to create folders in the site What happened to create folder?

It hasn't gone anywhere, see attachment. Maybe the users don't have contributor access or higher to the site?

I had the similar problem (unable to create folder, no popup window) in Alfresco Share 4.2e custom install when using czech language pack, last update (http://alflocal.ossportal.ru/) of the language pack resolved the problem. I hade no issues when using browser with locale EN.

No roles work. No one can us the create folder button on the web client anywhere including the admin user.

We also have problems with visibility, new sites are not visible to others unless specifically invited.

Not sure how to check the local, the system is in the United States and I'd be surprised if any language packs were installed.

It sounds to me like a permissions problem. Try this. Go to the repository view and find the Sites folder. Click on "Manage Permissions" for that folder. Everyone should be a consumer. Then, go into the sites folder and fine one of the site folders that has the problem. That folder should have inheritance turned off, everyone should be a consumer (unless the site is private), and there should be four site-specific groups with names that match the permission level they have been granted. There should be no other permissions set.

If that checks out go into the site folder and check the documentLibrary folder. It should inherit the permissions of the site folder, so it should look the same.

If all of that checks out then you must have some sort of UI problem.

At some point you need to upgrade to the latest Community Edition release (4.2.f) as there have been numerous fixes, including critical security fixes, made since the version you are running.

That all checks out so I'll have to upgrade the instance.

Also we can't create folders anywhere in the repo and it's not one PC

It's hosted on bitnami, ubuntu, using postgres 9.3.1

The only known working folder create is to make a new site.
