Hello,I would like to ask/know what will happen to my custom datalist and the data inside it after performing Backup. And also, is there a documented step-by-step process in performing Alfresco backup and restore?, if so, can you give me a link?I'm using Alfresco Community 5.1 Edition.Thanks,June

Hi June,

Alfresco uses a file system for storing content binaries and search indexes.

It also uses a database for storing all the metadata and associations.

This because when you navigate the repository Alfresco uses database but if you search contents then Alfresco uses its search engine based on the indexes in the file system.

This means that contents are splitted in binaries on the file system and metadata on the database.

You have to take care of both of them when you create the backup and then you restore it.
