For all new site members you can modify the Site Preset to show only the dashlet you want (see </SPAN><A href="http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/concepts/dev-extensions-share-site-presets.html" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/concepts/dev-extensions-share-site-presets.html</A><SPAN>). For existing site members, you can write something in javascript to remove the component files. For example for the Sample: Website Design Project site, you need to remove page.component-1-1.site~swsdp~dashboard.xml and page.component-1-2.site~swsdp~dashboard.xml.
