Hi,Is there a way to control some of the mobile configurations at the server level? For e.g. we want to turn off the "Save Password" option at the server level or turn off the Download option for all users. Is this possible? Thanks,Jerry

Hi Jerry

Right now, no there's no server-side configuration available on either platform. For Enterprise customers, we do have a "distribution policy" module available which prevents certain actions on the iOS app (and soon the Android app too), e.g. users can't print or "Open In" documents which have this policy applied.

General central config is something we've had discussions about on the Mobile team however - we're not yet happy with how we can provide sensible levels of scoping for config (e.g. per user, per group, per site, permissions based, etc.) without incurring lots of remote HTTP requests.

Essentially what you're asking for is covered by the term "Mobile Device Management", or MDM, which is becoming a hot topic throughout IT departments where users have access to company resources via mobile devices. We've been in contact with a number of MDM vendors and definitely have this on our radar.

Thanks,
Mike
