Inbound SMTP subject/body/attachment splitting?

Inbound SMTP works pretty well, except for the fact that every item e-mailed in results in the creation of 3 documents. Hello,

the inbound SMTP has pretty much been left unchanged. We also had to do some custom coding (even some core patching) to save the mail in the original EML / RFC822 format with a more recent version (against latest 4.2.x service pack, but verified to still be necesary on 5.0).
