Hi,
I am having the same issue as bopolissimus above. I have Alfresco Community 4.2.c on Linux and Windows, and in both after I edit a new doc in Google Docs, when I try to save to Alfresco I get the "Failed to save Google Doc to Alfresco." message.

Does anybody know the cause of this issue, maybe it is a bad configuration, or a bug? Any help much appreciated.

Mine was also working fine until about Tuesday. I tried using 4.2.c and 4.2.d latest nightly. The weird thing is Spreadsheets work fine, just Docs and Presentations are not working. I think the problem is either with Google Docs or google changed something and now alfresco needs a patch. I am sure someone on the Alfresco Googledocs team would have caught this by now, maybe they know better than we what is causing this?

Looking at the code, I am guessing that it is using spring social component to access google docs that is using the google data apis. Google is deprecating this APIs, and maybe that is why they stopped working?

Noticed the issue 3 days ago on a 4.2c Community Edition/Ubuntu 5.9. Have tried reseting the googledoc authorization credentials, using a brand new google account, restoring a 4.2b backup that was working fine all these attempts were unsuccessful. Can initialize a doc or start editing a existing doc but not save it back to Alfresco.
I am now confident it is caused by a change on the google side. Hopefully it will be handled quickly by the Alfresco team.

I'm having the same issue. Please note that https://my.alfresco.com is affected in the same way.

Firefox's Web Console shows the following error, which may or may not be relevant:
[11:26:22.791] Load denied by X-Frame-Options: https://docs.google.com/e/share?id=1H3xQXKNOjaH7CVtpZp-8zKv00ISmHcAQ4z5TupFw4pA&foreignService=kix&gaiaService=writely&shareService=kix&shareProtocolVersion=2&command=init&subapp=10&popupWindowsEnabled=true&shareUiType=default&hl=en-GB&authuser=0&rand=1367537182050&theme=2 does not permit cross-origin framing.

No further JS errors, but the AJAX call to saveContent subsequently fails:
[11:26:42.630] POST https://my.alfresco.com/share/catalyst.net.nz/proxy/alfresco/googledocs/saveContent [HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found 1250ms]

Hi bornes,

No solution yet, as far as I know. There's a bug report (see above) but I think Peter Monks hasn't been able to replicate it yet. Or if he has, he hasn't updated the bug yet. But the weekend just went by in the U.S. They might be able to replicate it today if google's rolling upgrade has come around and the google servers that peter uses have been upgraded so he can see the bug.

Hi All,

As mentioned above you can track the initial fix for this in GOOGLEDOCS-214. Google changed a parameter name in the export URL used by their Document List API – without notification to the developer community. We are pushing out the fix in 2.0.3 of the integration. We are also working on moving away from the Document List API to the Drive API as part of the 2.1 release (no scheduled release date as Google continues to make API/UI changes on us.) I'm not sure when a packaged version of the AMPs will be available for community but you'll be able to at least pull and build from source. I'll post to this post when we have merged and test those changes for community.

Currently, you are also seeing in a browser JS Console the following error (or something similar): "Load denied by X-Frame-Options: https://docs.google.com/e/share?id=1H3xQXKNOjaH7CVtpZp-8zKv00ISmHcAQ4z5T… does not permit cross-origin framing." This is an unrelated issue. Google has modified how the share button is presented in their UI and at present have no intention of fixing it. As part of 2.1 we are looking at our options for providing a work around.

@delfin There were also a couple of regressions introduced by the platform that had to be corrected/noted before the release could occur.

All you can download the community fix for this issue (and a few others) at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Community_file_list_4.2.c#GoogleDocs_integration. The fix for cloud is in the queue for deployment.

There will be a similar fix for 1.0 coming, but because it is part of core it would need a full release. If you want to fix it yourself, the change requires modifying the 'docId' parameter used in the export url to 'id'.

Hint:
Look at GoogleDocsServiceImpl's getGoogleDocContent(NodeRef nodeRef) method

I found same documentation from google where was docID. No mention about doc. It was reason why i changed docId only to docID. With doc it works perfectly. Thank you.

I applied the 2.0.3-23 amps to my 4.2.c installation and reloaded the wars, but I am getting the same "failed to save" error.

Can you post debug logs from this? log4j.logger.org.alfresco.integrations.google.docs=debug added to your log4j.properties files
