Not able to start workflow when selecting Send Email notification.

I am not able to start the workflow when the email notification is selected. I have correctly set the email configuration in properties file. Below is the exception that i am getting. Seems some permission related issue, but i have not find any permission that needs to be set for sending email in wo

It seems you don't have the permissions to get email template,in order to send work flow notification ,alfresco should get email template from Company Home/Data Dictionary/Email Templates/workflow notification,it seems you don't have read permission of this folder.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But it didnt helped. I think if its a problem with file based access then even the admin user should not be able to run the workflow.

I dont know if this is some sort of bug. Can some one please help

I don't think it is a bug ,it works fine in my environment. Maybe some body(with admin privileage) accidentally modify "Company Home/Data Dictionary/Email Templates/workflow notification" 's permission

By default "Company Home/Data Dictionary/Email Templates/workflow notification" inherits it's parent's permission ,which is EVERYONE as user role,so every one can access email template,But now it's permission might be modified by somebody.

you can check it like this:
sign in http://localhost:8080/alfresco as admin user and browse to "Company Home/Data Dictionary/Email Templates/workflow notification" and click "more actions"->"manage space users",and choose "inherited" in the select box on top of "close" button

make sure "inherit parent space permissions" is checked

I'm not sure whether I make myself understood.
In a word ,the error is caused by email notification need to use template in "Company Home/Data Dictionary/Email Templates/workflow notification",but your user has no permission to access the template.

Thanks for your help. It solved the problem, however the problem was not on email notification folder but folder's above that. Once i gave the inherit permission to the complete path till email notification that solved the issue.

Hi,

our problem is, when checked "Send email notification" the workflow start succesfully, but alfresco not send email to participants. Outbound SMTP is configured corectly (alfresco starting test message and recent activities notification is succesfully delivered). Please, any idea or direction to search problem? Thx.
