topic What should we call the Alfresco 'community' website? in Alfresco Archive

Hey Community,

We're in the process of relaunching a community platform, replacing our current blogs, wiki, and forums. If you attended today's office hours, you already have a bit of these details, but I'll add a bit of color, for those who missed. In late August (target!), we'll be launching a new website, which will host all of the content currently held in our forums, blogs, and wiki. It's a place where you'll be able to ask a question, post a topic, message other members, and connect with our team. We'll be posting updates, release announcements, and more - and you'll be able to make announcements, organize meet ups, etc.

My question to you is - what can we call this thing? We as a company already use "community" quite a bit. We thought it might get confusing. We thought that "the source" was a nice play, but again, could be confusing as it's used so much in your everyday language.

I don't want to get bogged down in the name, as the real value comes from members and content - but I still have to refer to the new space in some way. I'd love any opinion you might have as to what we can call our new community!

Kristen

For ten years we've all been able to figure out the difference between Alfresco Community Edition and the community (as in eco-system). I don't recall it ever being a lingering source of confusion.

"The source" would be immensely confusing.

I think it is wonderful that we are moving to a new platform, especially if it is going to solve our spam problem (the platform it is running on now was also supposed to solve the spam problem, BTW, so third time is hopefully the charm!). But I really don't see a reason to name it anything.

Looking forward to seeing the new sites!

Jeff

In the end, we agreed. The new community will be open for business in early Sept!
