We've been experiencing an odd problem in v5.0d which I hope someone might be able to help with.

When we first installed the system, we created users, could then search for those users and send invitations for site access. At some stage recently, we can now create a user, but the user would not show up in the search UNTIL we restart the Alfresco services. Once we do this, the user appears in the search results, and we can continue as normal.

There's no indication why this started happening, can I cannot pinpoint when it did, but there's been no other problems with the system - infact, it's been working very well in all other respects.

Any ideas?

It looks like, your SOLR is not working properly or not getting the changes from Alfresco repo. When you restart, SOLR + other Alfresco services also getting restarted and SOLR is doing the indexing also and you're able to search the users.
So, check alfresco.log + solr.log for any issues or try to reindex via solr admin console.
